The 29th Annual Conference of the RSJ

The 29th Annual Conference of the Robotics Society of Japan was held in Shibaura Institute of Technology from September 7th to 9th. Two members in our lab made presentations.

Science Demonstration Day in Ritsumeikan University

“Science Demonstration Day” was held on 16 July 2011. This is to make a chance for high school students to get in touch with actual scientific researches in the university. The students in Ristumeikan Moriyama high school and Ikuei west high school participated this demonstration day. Many kinds of scientific labs (Mechanics, Chemistry, Architecture, Biology, and etc…) introduced their researches. We also introduced and demonstrated a snake-like robot, a crawler robot, a quadruped robot and an omni directional mobile robot.


Camp and Barbecue

We had a good camp at Takashima city in Shiga pref. on 11th and 12th June. Although weather forecast had reported it was rainy, fortunately, it was fine that made all of us happy. We had a barbecue and “Stupid seminar” which is making a presentation in MS Power Point about anything you want to talk and report, and the tour to Chikubushima island in Lake Biwa. Everybody were tired but happy.

Unmanned Systems Magazine has introduced Prof.Ma and his research

“Unmanned Systems Magazine” which is published by AUVSI has introduced Prof.Ma and his research. It is published on the issue Vol28 No.9 with title: 「Researcher Shugen Ma Looks to Nature for Robotic Inspiration」.

ROBIO 2010 has been successfully held in Tianjin

ROBIO 2010(International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics) has been successfully held in Tianjin. Prof.Ma is general chair of this conference. Five people from our Lab attended this conference and gave a talk respectively.
