Educational Snake-like Robot

Our lab has been collaborating every year since 2012 on JSSF (Japan Super Science Fair) sponsored by Ritsumeikan Junior High and Senior High School (Nagaokakyo city, Kyoto). In this fair, we organize a hands-on programming class of a snake robot called science zone for high school students gathered from all over the world. Planar snake robots with seven joints and eight links are used as hardware, Arduino, which is an inexpensive open source product and easy to purchase anywhere in the world, is used for programming.
